Brown buwbrown@comcast.net September 11, 2008, 9:22 am Complaint brought before Thomas Edgar, Alderman of Pittsburgh, by Maggie Vorax, mother of William Leopkowski, born Mar. 17, 1881. He runs away from home and stays away for weeks at a time. He is in the habit of committing larceny. In July of 1897 he stole $10.00 from a boarder at my house. Since then he has stolen money and anything he could lay his hands on. He threatened to shoot me. When I go to store or market he breaks into the house to steal. He sleeps in Iron Mills. Signed by mark; No. 42 S 16th St., Pgh John Kadofski deposes that he has known the infant for over a year. He is a very bad boy. I saw him break into the house of his mother in her absence. I know that he has been arrested several times for stealing. He associates with a bad crowd of boys. He sleeps away from home in the Iron Mills. He is entirely beyond the control of his parents. Signed by mark; No. 44 S 16th St., Pgh Mrs. Mary Meyers deposes that she has known the said infant since his birth. I know that he ran away from home and slept in Rolling Mills at night. None of my neighbors allows their children to associate with him. I know that he has been arrested for stealing. He associates with a bad crowd of boys. Father dead. Mother remarried to Paul Vorax, a laborer living at 42 16th St., So. Side, Pa. Sent here for threatening his mother, running away from home, stealing, etc. Description: height, 5' 3/4"; weight, 123 pounds. Heavy features, brown hair & eyes, dark complexion, two scars from cuts about 1" long, running parallel on right cheek. 4 vaccine marks on left arm. Age: 17 on Mar. 17, 1898; received Jan. 25, 1898. Born Penna. of Polish parentage. Catholic. Stepfather and mother intemperate; parents do not own property. 1 younger brother. Illiterate.
