McFarland, a minor born Dec. 5, 1889. Joseph will not stay at home, this being about the fifth time he has run away, staying away as long as 11 or 12 days at a time. I provided a comfortable home for him along with the other 5 children. I cannot get him to obey me and he is beyond my control. This is the second time he has been arrested by the police. McFarland, remarried; a street car conductor living at 5377 Marble St., E.E., Pittsburgh, Pa. Sent here for running away from home; disobedience. Description: Height 4'2"; weight 58 pounds. Brown hair, blue gray eyes, medium complexion, pug nose. Age: 11 on Dec. 18, 1899; received Aug. 11, 1899 Born: Mo. of American parentage Presbyterian Father and mother not intemperate; do not own property 1 older brother, 1 younger brother; 3 older sisters, 2 younger sisters Can read & write Swears, lies, uses tobacco; does not steal, is not intemperate.
