Brown buwbrown@comcast.net December 20, 2008, 12:02 pm Complaint made before John J. Walker, Justice of the Peace of Allegheny County, by Mrs. Mary A. Flitz, mother of Clevland (sic) Flitz, a minor. He stays away at night, will not obey her, refuses to do anything she tells him. She is in poor health and cannot control him. R.J. Knappenberger and Mrs. Mary Knappenberger of 1482 Mill Street, Wilkinsburg, depositions. He deposes that Cleveland's mother is a widow woman and lives in the next house to him. He is uncontrollable and has stayed out all night on several occasions. I never knew him to steal anything up to the time he stole Mr. Coutly's watch. She deposes the same. Additional Comments: Notes made upon the boy's arrival at the Pennsylvania Reform School at Morganza: Cleveland Flitz, No. 5714, Division D. Father, A.S. Flitz, deserted family 3 years since. Mother, Mrs. Mary A. Flitz, a washerwoman living at 1430 Mill St., Wilkinsburg, Pa. Sent here for stealing a watch from Mr. Courtley, disobedience, etc. Description: height 4' 11"; weight 76 pounds. Brown hair, gray eyes, fair complexion. Scar on forehead between eyes. Age: 15 on Oct. 10, 1899; received July 3, 1899. Born Penna. of American parents. Methodist. Father intemperate, mother not intemperate. Parents do not own property. 2 older brothers. Can read & write. Swears, lies, steals, uses tobacco. Is not intemperate, has not been arrested before.
