Brown buwbrown@concast.net July 18, 2008, 4:02 pm Petition of George Hopple of McKeesport, Allegheny County, representing that his son, William Hopple, a minor of the age of 14 years, was on July 5, 1895 arrested by an officer of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company for trespassing on the railroad trains of said Company; that said minor child was taken by said officer before a magistrate in the city of Pittsburgh, and was by either said magistrate or the Court of Quarter Sessions of Allegheny County committed to the Pennsylvania Reform School, situate at Morganza; that your petitioner had no notice of the committing of said minor child to said Reform School, until said minor was so confined in said institution; that said minor child has never been incorrigible, and has been an industrious, dutiful child, and has always remained at home with your petitioner, his wife & other children, and has materially assisted in the support of said family. Your petitioner further represents that he has a good, comfortable home for said minor child, and believes that he is unjustly deprived of his liberty in said Reform School. He, therefore, prays that yur Honors may recommend the release and discharge of said minor child from said institution.
