Brown buwbrown@concast.net July 20, 2008, 12:10 pm Report of the Visiting Committee, House of Refuge for Western Pennsylvania at Morganza, Pa.: Sarah Jane Sellings, aged 19 years, committed by Mayor Lowry of Pittsburgh on the oath of Catherine Richardson, her aunt, and Catherine Heist for associating with abandoned characters and frequenting houses of ill fame. Sarah says she is married to Thomas Hill, and her husband left her a few days before she was sent to the Refuge. Sarah's mother lives in Cincinnati. Recommend that her case be laid over until the Secretary or Superintendent can write to Cincinnati and ascertain if her mother will take her.
