Brown buwbrown@comcast.net June 4, 2008, 9:15 am Letter from John N. Neeb, Daily & Weekly Freiheits Freund, Pittsburgh, PA, to J.A. Quay (Supt. of the Western Pennsylvania Reform School at Morganza): Request that case of Matilda Walther not be acted on by the visiting committee this week. I had a conversation with the mayor, detectives & the mother and will explain the whole situation at the meeting of the Ex. Com. (Executive Committee) when that body can take final action. Please have the case held over for disposition at the meeting of the Ex.Com on Thursday, the 26th inst. Additional Comments: According to the printed stationery, the Daily & Weekly Freiheits Freund was established in 1834; L. and W. Neeb were proprietors. It boasted "larger circulation than all the other German papers in western Pennsylvania combined." This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
