Brown buwbrown@comcast.net July 30, 2008, 10:02 am In the Court of Quarter Sessions of Allegheny County, December Sessions 1899. William Cutler indicted for larceny and receiving stolen goods. True bill: January 30, 1900. Defendant pleads not guilty. Jury verdict: guilty as indicted. Court sentenced William Cutler to pay a fine of 6 1/4 cents to the Commonwealth, pay the costs of prosecution, restore the property stolen, if not already restored, or pay the owner the full value thereof, and be committed to te Pennsylvania Reform School at Morganza until age 21 unless otherwise discharged by due process of law. Additional Comments: Notes made upon the boy's arrival at the Pennsylvania Reform School, Morganza: Parents dead. Has been living with Mrs. Mary Locherty, 700 Norton St., Pbg. South Side, Pa., for over three years. Sent here for receiving money from a darkey who had stolen it from a telephone machine at B. & O. Depot. Description: Height 4' 8 1/2"; weight 82 pounds. Dark hair, hazel eyes, medium complexion. Scars from burn from right temple down in front of ear and on neck below right ear. Two vaccine marks on right arm. Two scars from burns on side of right hip and small one over spine between shoulder blades. Age: 14. Received: Feb. 13, 1900. Born Penna. of American parentage. Protestant. 2 older brothers, 1 younger sister. Can read & write. Swears, lies, steals, uses tobacco. Is not intemperate. Has been arrested before (5 times).
