DEED John Simpson & Wife to James Simpson. This Indenture made this sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six between John Simpson and Sarah his wife of the one part and James Simpson all of Armstrong County of the other part, Witnesseth that whereas James P. Carothers by his deed dated the sixth day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty-two did convey unto James Simpson and John Simpson as tenants in common their heirs and assigns all the following tract of land situate on the Cowanshannack Creek in said County beginning at a post corner thence north two and one half degrees west one hundred and ninety six perches and two tenths to a post thence south eighty-nine degrees west two hundred and fifteen perches along the line of Timothy Pickering [--?] to a post thence north eighty nine degrees east two hundred and seventeen perches to the beginning containing two hundred and fifty acres one hundred and thirty perches and the usual allowance of six [p??] for Roads, it Being part of a larger tract containing three hundred and one acres and forty five perches and allowance Patented to the said James P. Carothers on the fifteenth day of July A.D. 1822, Reference being thereto had will more fully and at large appear, Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said John Simpson and Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of one dollar to them in hand paid as well as for the purpose of dividing the said land with the said James Simpson Have Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said James Simpson the following described piece or parcel of Land beginning at a white oak thence north one degree west two hundred and eight perches to a post thence south eighty nine degrees west one hundred and four perches to a Stone thence south one degree east two hundred and eight perches to a post thence north eighty nine degrees west two hundred and four perches to the place of beginning containing one hundred and twenty seven acres and one half with the allowance and together with the appurtenance unto the said James Simpson his heirs and assigns for ever. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first above written. Know Ye That in Consideration of the money paid by Robert Simpson at the granting of the warrant hereinafter mentioned and of the sum of Sixteen dollars and Six Cents paid by Robert Simpson into the Treasury Office of this Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Robert Simpson a certain tract of land situate in the Townships of Wayne & Plumcreek, Armstrong County, beginning at a post thence by land of Timothy Pickering and Others north ninety six perches to a post South one hundred and two perches to a hickory South eighty nine degrees east two hundred and thirty three perches to a post thence by other land south sixty five perches and three fourths of a perch to a white oak at the Purchase Line thence by land warranted in the names of John Gohen, Elizabeth Henderson & William Wister, North eighty one degrees West two hundred and ninety two perches and three tenths of a perch to a post South one degree East seven perches and five tenths of a perch to a white oak South eighty nine degrees West sixty perches to an alder North one degree West eighteen perches and six tenths of a perch to a post North eighty one degrees West seventy eight perches to the beginning, Containing one hundred and ninety three acres and one hundred and twenty seven perches and allowance which Said tract of land was Surveyed in pursuance of two teanants and dated the 21st December 1832 and the Other dated 29th May 1834, granted to the Said Robert Simpson to have and to hold the said tract of land with the appurtenances unto the said Robert Simpson and his heirs and assigns forever, free and clear of all restrictions and reservations as to Mines Royalties Quit Tents or otherwise excepting and reserving only the fifth part of all Gold and Silver ore for the use of the Commonwealth to be delivered at the Pits Mouth clear of all charges. Know ye that in consideration of the monies paid by Robert Simpson at the granting of the Warrant hereinafter mentioned there is granted by this Commonwealth unto the said Robert Simpson a Certain tract of land Situate in Plum creek township, Armstrong County, Beginning at a post thence by land of Robert Simpson and lands warranted to John Morrow, South Eighty degrees East three hundred and sixty perches to a post thence by other land south four and five tenth perches to a post thence by land of ______Bradford, James Ashkettle, John Hutchinson and James Sloan West three hundred fifty four and five tenth perches to a post thence by the latter North sixty seven perches to the Beginning, Containing Seventy four Acres and Allowance, Which said tract of land was surveyed in pursuance of a warrant dated the 22nd day of January 1847 granted to the said Robert Simpson, To have and to hold the Said tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances unto the said Robert Simpson and his heirs to the use of him the said Robert Simpson his heirs and assigns forever, Free and clear of all restrictions and reservations as to Mines Royalties Quit Tents or otherwise excepting and reserving only the fifth part of all Gold and Silver ore for the use of the Commonwealth to be delivered at the Pits mouth clear of all charges. DEED ROBERT SIMPSON TO JOHN SIMPSON. "This Indenture made the sixth day of December in the Year of our Lord, one Thousand Eight-hundred and fifty one between Robert Simpson formerly of Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County and State of Pennsylvania, but now of White Township in the county of Indiana and State aforesaid of the one part, and John Simpson of Said Township of White, Son of Said Robert Ð of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Robert Simpson for and in consideration of the sum of one Dollar lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said John Simpson at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged and also for and in consideration of and upon condition that the said John Simpson shall and do furnish and provide at his own proper costs and charges, good and comfortable living and maintenance in boarding, lodging, washing, clothing and medical attendance and such other necessaries as may be needed to and for the said Robert Simpson for and during the natural life of the said Robert Simpson, which living and maintenance are hereby made a lien on the hereinafter granted lands or tenements, hath granted bargained sold aliened engeoffed, released and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien, engeoff release and confirm unto the said John Simpson, his heirs and assigns all the here following described tracts of land, one thereof situate in Wayne & Plumcreek Townships in Said County of Armstrong bounded as follows, to wit: beginning at a post thence by land of Timothy Pickering and others North ninety Six perches to a white oak Stump, Thence east one hundred and ninety Six perches to a post, Thence South one hundred and two perches to a hickory, Thence South eighty nine degrees east, two hundred and thirty three perches to post, thence by other land south sixty five perches and three fourth of a perch to a white oak at the purchase line thence by land warranted in the names of John Exton, Elizabeth Henderson and William Wister north eighty one degrees west two hundred and ninety two perches and three tenths a perch to a post, thence south one degree east seven perches and five tenths of a perch to a white oak, thence south eighty nine degrees west sixty three perches to an alder, north one degree west Ð eighteen perches and six tenths of a perch to a post Ð thence North eighty one degrees west seventy eight perches to the place of beginning containing one hundred and ninety three acres and one hundred and twenty seven perches and allowance, what said tract of land is patented to said Robert Simpson by patent dated June 1st, 1836. Enrolled in patent Book vol.35, Page 589 and recorded in the office for recording deeds in and for the said County of Armstrong in deed book No.17, page 645, the other of said tracts of land situate in said Township of Plum creek bounded as follows to wit beginning at a post, thence by land of Robert Simpson and land warranted to John Morrow South eighty degrees east three hundred and sixty Perches to a white oak, thence by other land South four and five tenth perches to a post, thence by land of _____Bradford, James Ashkettle, John Huthinson and James Slocum west three hundred fifty four and five tenth perches to a post, thence by the latter north sixty seven perches to the place of beginning containing seventy four acres and allowance being the same tract of land patented to said Robert Simpson by patent dated the 26th February 1847, Enrolled in Patent book H.Vol. 46 page 85 and recorded in the office for recording deeds in and for said County of Armstrong in Book No. 17, Page 65 as by reference to said Patents and records will more fully and at large appear. Together with all and singular the buildings and improvements, woods, ways, waters, water-courses, rights liberties privileges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders, rents issues and profits thereof. To have and to hold the said two tracts of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said John Simpson his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the Said parties have hereto interchangeable set their hands and seals the day and Year first above written, the words "Witnesseth that the " said Robert" erased before Signing.
