Shick Article of agreement of Maintenance between Jacob Shick Sr. of the first part and John M. Shick of the second part both of Red bank Township Armstrong County and State of Pennsylvania. Fully agreed upon this second day of April AD 1870 is as follows towit. First the said Jacob Shick Sr. the above named party of the first part, agrees to sell to John M. Shick party of the second part, all that certain piece or tract of land lying and situate in the Township of Red Bank County and State aforesaid. Bounded by lands as follows to wit, north by land of Widow Miller, East by land of Mathias Hought- and Adam Shick now. John Herman South by lands of John Harman and Jacob Shelly. West by lands of Benjamin Kunselman and William Horn containing ninety eight acres neat measure for the consideration of thirty six hundred dollars Lawful money of the United States, Including notes of six hundred and sixty dollars against different parties to be paid in manner following. The one third or twelve hundred dollars to be paid to my legal heirs including the party of the second part of the above agreement, or representatives two! years and six months after my death. Excepting Elizabeth Shick one of my legal heirs is to have double portion, is to say two dollars to one of my other legal heirs, and twelve hundred dollars, to be paid yearly until the above sum of thirty six hundred dollars is fully paid. The party of the first part agrees to give a good and sufficient deed, free of all incumbrance to the second party, and is hereby agreed and fully understood by the above named parties, that on the day and date of the delivery of the deed for the named tract or piece of land by the said Jacob Shick Sr. party of the first part to John M. Shick party of the second part or to this legal representatives, then this article of an agreement shall be and remain in full force, and otherwise to be null and void. The said party of the second part heretofore mentioned agrees to and binds himself and his legal heirs to keep and maintain the said Jacob Shick Sr. the party of the first part heretofore mentioned as long ! as he shall or may live, in a decent way and manner. After death of above named Jacob Shick Sr., John M. Shick party of the second part is to conduct the funeral of the above named Jacob Shick Sr. in a decent way and Religous Manner, and bear all expenses necessary connected with the funeral, the party of the second part also agrees to erect nice or common decent head stone for the above named Jacob Shick Sr. I the said Jacob Shick Sr. party of the first part direct that my daughter Elizabeth is to have extra, one good cow and corner cu pboard with all the ware on it, and the bed that I have now in possession, and well clothed. And I the said Jacob Shick Sr. party of the first part, do direct that after my death that my son Christian Shick shall take and sell the ball. of my personal property, whatever there may be left and sell the same by public Sale or give notice to representatives and legal heirs within sixty days after my death, and divide the same whatever, there may be among my legal heirs as here tofore, mentioned. To the above we bind our selves, our Executors, Administrators and assigns for the full performance of each and every of the above agreement. signed sealed and delivered in the presence of L.G. Shick and acknowledged the within and foregoing Articles of Agreement to be their act and deed, and their signatures thereto is in their own proper hand writing and desired the same to be recorded as such Witness my hand and seal today and year above written.
