ARTICLE OF AGREEMENT ARTICLE OF AGREEMENT made and concluded this 10th day of July A.D. 1923 by and between Sophia Shick, widow and beneficiary of the will of John M. Shick deceased will accept from parties of the second part hereinafter named the sum of Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars yearly instead of the one-third (1/3) of the proceeds of the said farm of John M. Shick deceased and the said Sophia Shick, widow being one of the parties of the first part and the following heirs. Amanda George and Jacob George her husband, Elizabeth Shaffer and H.G. Shaffer her husband, Elsie Gruver and William Gruver her husband, Ambrose Shick, (single), Calvin Copenhaver husband of Angeline Copenhaver deceased who left three children, viz:- Percy, Catharine, and Samuel Copenhaver and the said three children to receive the amount which would have fallen to their mother Angeline Copenhaver, deceased if she were living at the time of the consummation of this agreement, Clara Troutman and Raymond Troutman her husband, Catharine Shaffer and Ralph Shaffer her husband, Irene Edmonds and Frank Edmonds her husband, Orpha Shick, (single), Alvie Shick and Lulu Shick, his wife, Earl D. Shick and Pearl Shick his wife, The above named Catharine Copenhaver is now intermarried with Ezra Haines, all of the above being parties of the first part, and Charles O. Shick and Jesse E. Shick together with their wives to retain their interests in the said farm of John M. Shick, deceased the same as the other heirs and hereinafter known as parties of the second part. WITNESSETH, that for the consideration of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars parties of the first part hereby agree to convey by General Warranty Deed their interests in the John M. Shick farm situate in Red Bank Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, the said farm containing one hundred and three (103) acres, seventy four (74) perches be it more or less under the following conditions, viz:-That during the lifetime of Sophia Shick (widow) of Hawthorn, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, she to receive from Charles O. shick of Hawthorn, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and Jesse E. Shick of Red Bank Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, parties of the second part the amount above specified to be paid annually to Sophia Shick (widow) which amount is equal to four (4%) percent of the amount to be paid for said farm. The purchase money is not to be paid to the above named heirs until one (1) year after the death of Sophia Shick (widow), and no interest is to be extracted from parties of the second part by parties of the first part during that time, but at the end of one year after the death of Sophia Shick (widow) parties of the second part to make full and complete settlement with parties of the first part. Should parties of the second part violate any of the conditions of this agreement then the same to become null and void and of no effect. Parties of the second part to have full right and possession of said farm just as soon as this agreement is signed by all parties hereto. Parties of the second part to file a good and sufficient bond for the faithful performance of the conditions of this agreement. It is further agreed upon that Amanda George wife of Jacob George, Ambrose Shick (single), Elizabeth Shafer wife of H.G. Shaffer, and Elsie Gruver wife of W.E. Gruver that the said Amanda George, Ambrose Shick, Elizabeth Shafer and Elsie Gruver who are the children of the first wife of John M. Shick deceased, and the said first wife of John M. Shick deceased had put a certain amount of money in the farm now being sold to Charles O. Shick and Jesse E. Shick on an Article of Agreement and the said four above mentioned heirs to have each one hundred ($100.00) more out of the sale price of said farm as set forth in Article of Agreement, than the other heirs named on said Article of Agreement. This part of the agreement is to be annexed to the article of Agreement written on three sides of three sheets of paper and concurred in by the other heirs mentioned in Article of Agreement dated July 10th, 1923 IN WITNESS WHEREOF we the undersigned have hereunto set out hands and seals the day and year above written.
