The Butler Citizen (Butler, Pa.) January 7, 1880
In making excavations in Kittanning, the remains of an Indian were found supposed to
have been buried 200 years ago, as a tree had been growing immediately over the spot
calculated to be that old. A pipe, curiously wrought, and other relics were also
found.
