Look who bought stock in the business. Col. M. B. Brown, J.V. Rolland, Samuel Davis, R. H. Fife, Hugh Lee, J. L. Marshall, Leonard Kearns, S. H. Patterson, Robert Bell, James Caldwell, and Samuel Bell. Additional Comments: Note: The Bells are related to the Pattersons as is Leonard Kearns. The civil war breaks out, they keep replacing the driller teams because they leave to join the war, eventually they run out of money and never find the oil.
