OSCAR BEATTY, Tarentum R. Oscar Beatty, 93, of 307 W. 11th Ave., Tarentum, formerly of Vandergrift, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1993) in his home. Born April 24, 1900, in Dayton, Pa., he lived in the Kiski Valley most of his life before moving to Tarentum three years ago. He was employed as a machinist by United Engineering and Foundry Co., Vandergrift, before retiring in 1965. Mr. Beatty was a member of Church of God, Vandergrift. Survivors include a son, Eugene Beatty of Titusville, Fla; a daughter, Evelyn Horneman, with whom he made his home; five grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; and two brothers, Dwight Beatty of Gibsonia and the Rev. Clair Beatty of Miamisburg, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Hollenbaugh Beatty; his parents, Stewart (sic) M. and Estella Wilson Beatty; two brothers, Dale and Roscoe Beatty; and two sisters, Pearl Beatty and Irene Houser. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today in the Dunmire-Kerr Funeral Home, a Golden Rule and Forethought member, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where a service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday.
