Roscoe W. Beatty, 70, of 1616 16th St., North Apollo, died yesterday in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, after a lingering illness. He was born April 24, 1900, in Dayton, Pa., to Stuart M. and Cora E. Wilson Beatty. Mr. Beatty moved to Vandergrift in 1944 and was employed by the Vandergrift plant of United Engineering and Foundry Co. as a locomotive crane operator for 21 years until retirement in 1965. He was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Vandergrift. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Blanche Dillinger Beatty; one son, Roscoe, Cabot; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Cora) Davis, Mansfield, Ohio; Mrs. Ralph (Gladys) Kuhn, Doylestown, and Mrs. Mildred Gontner, North Apollo; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Four brothers, Oscar, Vandergrift; Dale RD 1, Avonmore; Dwight, Somerset, and the Rev. Clair Beatty, Carlisle, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Irene) Houser, Knox. A son, Harry S., died in March, 1949. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the Dunmire-Kerr Funeral Home, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where a service will be held Wednesday (Dec. 9, 1970) at 1:30 p.m. with Dr. Richard K.Y.
