  The Leader-Vindicator, New Bethlehem, Pa., July 26, 1934
   George W. Himes died at his home near Pierce, Armstrong county, July 23, 
  1934, aged 72 years, 7 months and 11 days.  Deceased was a son of Israel and 
  Susannah (Copenhaver) Himes and was born in Armstrong county, Dec. 12, 1861. 
  He was married to Florence E. Yarger, Sept. 4, 1881, and to this union eight 
  children were born, three of whom preceded their father in death. Those living 
  are, V.S. of Saxonburg, Pa., D. R. of Hawthorn, J. K. of Brookville, Mrs. W. 
  M.Neal of Dayton, Pa., and Mrs. C. L. Buffington of Pierce. He is also 
  survived by his wife, by 28 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. 
  Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday of this week and were 
  conducted by Rev. Mr. Shields. Interment under the direction of H.H. Sloan 
  took place in the cemetery at Timblin.
