(Pittsburgh, Pa.): March 23, 1864 Died in the city of Richmond, from the effects of a wound received at the battle of Fredericksburg, George E., son of Andrew and Susannah Jack, aged 23 years, 4 months, and 20 days. Deceased was born in Armstrong County, Pa., and was a member of Company G, 11th Reg’t. Pa. Reserves, and was much beloved by all who knew him. He left his parents and home on the 19th of September, 1861, because he felt that his country was calling for him, and he enlisted and served his country till the battle of Fredericksburg, which took place on the 13th of December, 1862. He was wounded and taken prisoner, and spent his last days in the hands of the enemy. But the Lord's will be done, not ours. Although he had not united with any Church, he held to the Presbyterian Church. He is missed in the family circle and in society very much, and will long be remembered by all who knew him.
