  Leader Vindicator 
  Mrs. Elsie Furlong Shumaker, 66, widow of Clarence Shumaker, died Tuesday
  morning, October 22, 1940 at her home at Distant.   Death was attributed to a
  heart attack.
  	
  Mrs. Shumaker, the daughter of Francis and Margaret  Cathcart Furlong, was born
  May 3, 1874 at Distant.  In 1893 she was married to Clarence Shumaker, who died
  in 1922.
  	
  She is survived by two daughters and two sons:  Nora L. Shumaker of Distant, Ona
  M. Shumaker of Elyria, Ohio, Cleo Shumaker of R. D. 5, New Bethlehem, and Boyd
  Shumaker of R.D. 2, New Bethlehem.  She also leaves three grandchildren, one
  brother and one sister, Boyd Furlong of Knox and Mrs. Gertie Willison of
  Kellersburg.
  	
  Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in the Oakland
  Baptist church in charge of the Reverend Mr. Fitzgerald.  Burial under the
  direction of W. S. Vorous will be made in the Oakland cemetery.
