  Leader Vindicator 
  Catherine M. Silvis, widow of the late William Silvis, one of the oldest
  residents of New Bethlehem, died at her late home in Broad street, Tuesday
  morning, May 3, 1937, aged 88 years, 6 months and 23 days.
  
  The daughter of David and Elizabeth (Emhoff) Mohney, she was a life-long
  resident of New Bethlehem, being born at this place October 10, 1848.  In 1864
  she was united in marriage to William Silvis who passed to his reward January
  10, 1919.  To their union seven children were born, one whom, Clyde M. preceded
  his mother in death June 27, 1929.  The surviving members of her family are Mrs.
  Alice E. McCormack, M. A. Silvis, Dr. G. M. Silvis, H. B. Silvis, Mrs. Blanche
  Carrier and Dr. William Silvis all of this place.   Of her father’s family, two
  survive, namely: Warren R. Mohney, Albuquerque, N.M. and Mrs. H. H. Wensel of
  Ridgway, Pa.
  
  Funeral service in her memory were held from her late residence today
  (Wednesday) at 2:00 P.M., conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Roy R. Decker,
  pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church of this place.  Interment under
  the direction of R. F. Mateer and Son was made in the family plot in New
  Bethlehem cemetery.
