  Leader Vindicator 
  Mrs. Martha Jane Silvis, for many years a well known and highly respected lady
  of Cottage Hill, died at her home there Friday, March 4, 1938 at the mature age
  of 86 years.  She had been a life-long resident of the cottage Hill section.
  
  She was born May 1, 1851 and was united in marriage to Jerimiah Silvis who
  passed to his reward many years ago.  She was the mother of six children, two
  sons, having preceded her in death.  The surviving  children are: Mrs. Clare
  Eisenhuth, Clarion, Warren J. Silvis of South Bethlehem, Mrs. Pearle Salyards of
  Pitcairn, and Forrest Silvis of Brackenridge.  A number of grandchildren and
  great grandchildren also survive.
  
  Funeral services conducted by Rev. Roy R Docker and Rev. W. J. Organ of this
  place, were held Monday at 2:30 P.M., followed by interment in the New Bethlehem
  cemetery under the direction of Mortician W. S. Vorous.
