A newspaper article in the Pittsburgh Gazette on Sep 1 1870 tells of Louis [Gearing] and an unnamed brother being killed in the Freeport Cemetery,along with a sexton,when they were hit by lightning as they picked out a grave for another unnamed brother who had just died. The tombstone inscription makes it clear that Gust was the other brother killed by lightning,A s/o Louis had also just died the day before of typhoid fever making 4 deaths that week within the same household.
