Captured by Indians May 22 And Escaped May 27, 1792. Captured by a band of Indians while her husband was away patrolling the frontier,she watched her children murdered in front of her,Taken across the Allegheny River with one remaining infant in her arms,she was forced almost to Butler PA before escaping,She made her way back to the river and crossed it with the help of men near the present-day site of Blawnox,She lived out her last years in a home at the corner of 4th and Mulberry Alley in Freeport,near the Methodist Episcopal Church,She d. Dec 9, 1837 and was interred in the community graveyard.Her name is on the list of persons known to be in that graveyard just before all remains were removed to the new cemetery,It was noted that at that time,in 1903,that she and her husband John did not have tombstones,
