Comment: Major Co C 62nd Penna Vol Killed in Battle at 
Gettysburg. William G,(Gustav?) Lowry is listed as residing 
at Freeport when he enlisted on Jul 25 1861 in the 62nd 
Infantry of the PA Volunteers as a Second Lieutenant. He was 
promoted to a Major in Sep 1862. He was killed at the battle 
of Gettysburg and is listed on Ancestry as being buried in 
the cemetery at Gettysburg on Taney Town Road,Section B,Site 
26. This tombstone may be a memorial
