E. Himes, Jan. 29, 1935, at 5:30 o'clock when their daughter, Ida E. Himes & Dwight M. Beatty, son of Mr. & Mrs. S. M. Beatty, were united in holy matrimony. The ceremony was performed in the living room of the home in front of a beautiful archway of spruce. Rev. G. W. McIntyre, pastor of the Glade Run Presbyterian church at Dayton, Pa., officiated, using the single ring ceremony. The immediate families & a few friends were present. The bride was lovely in a dress of peacock blue. She was attended by Miss Edna Carlson. Earl Himes, a brother of the bride, served as best man. Immediately following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to the guests. A beautiful wedding cake was the centerpiece on the table, & a delightful color scheme of pink & green was carried out in the appointments. The bride is a graduate of the Dayton Vocational high school with the class of 31, and also a graduate of the New Kensington Commercial college. She has been employed at Vandergrift. The groom is also employed in Vandergrift." Served at the wedding dinner was fricasseed chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, peas & carrots, apple sauce, cole slaw, pickles, bread, butter & jelly, and cherry pie ala mode served with coke, coffee, & mints.
