	In the Name of God, Amen. I, Samuel Beatty of Armstrong County, State of 
Pennsylvania, farmer, being very sick and weak of body, but of perfect sound mind,
memory, and understanding, blest be to God for same, do make and publish this, my
last will and testament, viz:
Principally, and first of all, I commend my immortal soul into the hands of God, who
gave it, and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like
manner at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named. And as to such worldly
estate it has pleased God to bless me with, I give and dispose of in the following
manner to wit:
First, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Margaret Beatty, the back room in my
house to reside in during her natural life with a good sufficient bedding and her
chest and cupboard and the round table and her wheel and such of my household
furniture and kitchen utensils as she may see cause to keep for her own use and
accommodation. She may give as much of these articles as she pleases to her
grandchild, Sarah Jack.  The remainder, if any, to be sold and equally divided among
my children. And likewise, she is to have the choice of my cows, and her to be fed
and well taken care of, winter and summer, and a sufficient quantity of firewood
cut and laid into her, summer and winter,
I likewise do order, allow, and bequeath to my said wife, a sufficient maintenance 
during her life to be taken out of the benefit of my land and in case she is not
satisfied with such maintenance from the residers or managers of my said land, then
in such case she is to have twelve pounds per year paid her yearly and every year
during her natural life. If she continues single and not marryed after my decease.
If she does marry she is totally deprived of the aforesaid privileges. 
Secondly. I give and bequeath to my son, William Beatty, twenty pounds. 
Thirdly. I give and bequeath to Jinny Crawford twenty pounds. 
Fourth;y. I give and bequeath unto my son, John Beatty, my son, all my right and
title to a certain tract of land situated and lying in Westmoreland County,
Washington Township, adjoining lands of William Beatty, John Walker, and others, to
him and his heirs forever.
Fifthly. I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Mary Walker, one hundred acres of
land off the plantation I now live on to be laid off in such a manner as to take one
fourth of the bottom land, on said plantation, and so much of the hill or up the lane
to make up the hundred acres to her and her heirs forever.
Sixthly. I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Margaret Reed, one hundred acres of
land of my said plantation to be laid off in the same way and manner as Mary Walker.
To her, the said Margaret Reed, and her heirs forever.
Seventhly. I give and bequeath unto my son, Samuel Beatty, the remainder of my said
plantation being one hundred and sixty three acres and including all the
improvements that I made into his hands at my decease, provided he shall do
justice to his mother and give her a sufficient maintenance and her well satisfied
with, but in case of failure, neglect, or refusal to comply with the above
allowance then the said land and improvements shall be rented for the said
maintenance and at her decease him to come into the full privilege of the land and
improvements above mentioned to him and his heirs forever. 
And as touching all the residue or remainder of the estate, real or personal, of
what kind or nature soever the same may be, I give and devise same unto my children
above mentioned equally to be divided between them.
And lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint Robert Robinson, John Beatty, my son,
to be the executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other
wills and declaring this to be my last will and testament and no other, 
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of
