I, William Beatty, of Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, and State of Pennsylvania, being very sick and weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding, blest be to God for the same, but considering the uncerainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this, my last will and testament, in the manner and form following, to wit: Principally, and first of all, I commend my immortal soul into the hands of God, who gave it, and my body to the earth, to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named, and as to such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with, in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the following manner, to wit: I give and devise to my dear wife. Sarah, the dwelling house during her natural life, and all the household furniture, with one horse and one cow and all the debts endue me, and my son David is to furnish her with everything that is necessary for her comfortable accomodations during her natural life. I bequeath unto my dear children in the following manner, to wit: I give unto Jenny Hetselgesser one hundred and forty dollars , and as some of them have got their shares already, yet I give to them in the following manner, to wit: To my son, Samuel, five dollars To my daughter, Nancy Thornburg, five dollars and my son John five dollars and to Sarah Foreman five dollars and my son James five dollars and Margaret Earl five dollars And my son David, two hundred acres of land with the mill and all the improvements thereto connected, and said David is to have the remainder of the stock by paying the above mentioned legatees their five dollars, the above mentioned one hundred forty dollars is to be paid out of the above mentioned standing debts, when collected. And lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint my sons William, Hetselhesser, and David Beatty of the County and State aforesaid to be the executors of this, my will, hereby revoking all other wills, legacies and bequests by me heretofore made, and declaring this, and no other to be my last will and testamrnt In witness signed, sealed, published, pronounced and declared by the said testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us, who in his presence and at his request have subscribed as witnesses Signed Wm. Before me, Phillip Mechling, Esquire, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said County, personally came John Smith Esquire and Robert Morrison, the subscribing witnesses to the wtitten will, and being duly sworn, according to law, did depose and say that they were present and saw and heard William Beatty, the testator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the within instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament, and at the time of so doing, he, the said William Beatty, was of perfect and sound mind and memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and ability.
