I, Nancy Beatty, of the Township of Plum Creek, County of Armstrong, and State of Pennsylvania, being in tolerable health, and of sound and disposing mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same, do make and publish this, my last will and testament. In the first place, I commend my soul to God who gave it, and my body to be decently interred at the discretion of my executor herein after named, and as to my worldly estate, I dispose of it as follows: To wit: I direct that all my debts, funeral expenses, and expense of settling my estate be paid out of the first money of my estate that shall come into the hands of my executor. I give and devise unto my sister, Rebeccah Beatty, my farm situated in Plum Creek Township, Armstrong County, and State of Pennsylvania, on which she now resides, containing fifty three acres, more or less, during her natural life, and at her death, the executors to sell the said farm, and to divide the proceeds of the sale between Rebeccah's children and grand children as follows: Edward A. Young two thirds of the proceeds of sale after all expenses are paid The balance of proceeds of sale to be divided equally among Rebeccah Beatty's grandchildren, share and share alike. I also devise unto my friend, Eva Barnwell, two thousand dollars I also devise unto the Freemans Board of the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America one hundred dollars. I also devise to my nephew, William J. Beatty, seven hundred dollars. I also devise to my niece, Elizabeth A. Young, one hundred dollars. I also devise unto my friend, Martha Shaw??, fifty dollars I also devise unto my sister, Rebeccah Beatty, five hundred dollars. I also devise unto my nephews in the west, Andrew, Hamilton, and Samuel Beatty, sons of my brother, Robert Beatty, five hundred dollars, share and share alike, I also devise unto my friend, Mary Pattison, wife of A.S. Pattison, fifty dollars. I also devise unto my friend J.G. Orb one hundred dollars. I also devise unto my friend, James Young, one hundred dollars I also devise unto my niece, Minnie Shaffer, two hundred dollars I also devise unto my friend, ------- Thompson, wife of W.J. Thompson, fifty dollars. I also devise unto my friend, A.S. Pattison, the balance and residue of my estate, whatever, after putting four headstones and footstones to the graves of Father, Mother, Sister, and myself, if the other graves be found And I hereby nominate and appoint A.S. Pattison, to be the executor of this, my last will and testament, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of April, A.D. 1892 Signed Nancy Beatty Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said testator in the presence of us who have hereunto, and at her request (unreadable) Codicil 1. I, Nancy Beatty, of the Township of Plum Creek, County of Armstrong, State of Pennsylvania, do make this codicil, to this, my last will and testament, dated April 21, 1892 and all former codicils, if any, and I hereby void and disannul my bequest to J.B. Orb, of the County of Armstrong and State of Pennsylvania of one hundred dollars, and give and bequeath it to my niece, Nancy Shaffer, for pay for keeping me in my last illness if she makes a moderate bill for so doing. I also revoke and disannul my bequest to my three nephews, Andrew, Hamilton, and Samuel Beatty, sons of my brother, Robert Beatty, deceased, of five hundred dollars, and give and bequeath it to my friend, A.S. Pattison, for his kindness to me in my last days on earth The above codicil is in accordance of my signature, whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 29th day of September, 1892 Signed Nancy Beatty
