Armstrong Co. Wills, 1924, Vol 6, Page 401, Estate # 11066 Samuel Lankerd of Redbank Twp. I Samuel Lankerd of Red Bank Township in the County of Armstrong (P.O. Hawthorn, PA) and State of Pennsylvania being of sound mind, memory and understanding , do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all previous wills by me at any time heretofore made. And first, I direct that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life and that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. And as to such estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows, viz: To my beloved wife Margaret Lankerd I will that she shall have the use of our homestead as long as she remains my widow, but should she re-marry then the homestead to revert to my heirs. I also will that One thousand five hundred ($1,500.00) of my estate be set aside on which my wife Margaret Lankerd shall have the interest as long as she remains my widow, and at her death both the homestead and the one Thousand five hundred ($1,500.00) dollars to revert to my legal heirs. To my daughter Margaret intermarried with J. J. Troutman, Miss Minnie Lankerd, Laura Lankerd, Catherine intermarried with J. T. Shaffer, the share of S. C. Lankerd deceased to his two heirs Mildred and Samuel S. G. Lankerd, Elsie intermarried with P. M. Troutman and Irene intermarried with Edward Anthony to have share and share alike with the exceptions of Mrs. J. T. Shaffer who shall first receive Four Hundred and sixty five ($465.00) dollars out of my estate so that she may have the same amount given to some of my other heirs, Viz:- $800.00 and to Laura Lankerd seven hundred and seventy five ($775.00) dollars in order that she may have the same as to those I had given $800.00 during my lifetime for which receipts were given. And I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint George W. Wise Executor of this my last will and testament. In Witness Whereof, I, Samuel Lankerd the Testator, have to this, my will, written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal, this Seventeenth day of May A. D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and twenty three. Samuel Lankerd {seal} Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Samuel Lankerd as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names at his request as witnesses thereto, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other. John Doverspike F. K. Stroup State of Pennsylvania County of Armstrong, S.S. Be it Known, that occ the 6th day of October A.D. 1924 before me W. E. McGarvey, Register of Wills, Etc, in and for the County aforesaid, came John Doverspike and F. K. Stroup, the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Samuel Lankerd deceased, and on this solemn oath did depose and say that they were present and did see and hear Samuel Lankerd, the Testator therein named, sign, seal , publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament and at thee time of so doing he was of sound mind and memory to the best of their knowledge and belief. Stroup Now Oct 6 A.D. 1924, the testimony of the above named witnesses being sufficient, I do hereby admit the foregoing Will to Probate and order the same to be recorded as such.
