Shick of Red Bank Township in the County of Armstrong and the State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. And first, I direct that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life and that all my debts and funeral expenses be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. As to such estate, as it hath pleased God to intrust me with I despose of the same, as follows, Viz: It is my will that the money, my wife Sophia Shick, gave me out of the money she received from home ---- ---- shall be hers and shall first be paid of my estate, same being about $600.00. I have given all my children who are married at the time of there marriage certain gifts, viz: to each boy a horse, and to each girl, a cow, money & c--- Therefore I desire and direct that my executrix hereinafter named shall treat the three children at home in the same manner and shall give out of my estate to Orpha and Serena, each, property or money amount- ing to about $100.00, and to Alva a good ordinary horse when he is twenty one years of age. My son Ambrose owes me $100.00 and interest paid by me to Norman Sloan of Hawthorn Pa. on a note of his on which I was surety. The amount of this note, and all interest that has accrue on the amount also all claims in notes or otherwise where I hold against my sons Jesse and Earl and against Wm. Gruver shall be paid to my executors and estate. I give and bequeath the use of all the balance of my estate real and personal, to my wife, Sophia Shick as long as she remains my widow. If she should marry again or at her death the same shall go to all my children, of both my first and second marriage, and their heirs forever each of my children to receive an equal share, or share and share alike. And I hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint my wife Sophia Shick executrix of this my last will and testament, In the witness whereof, J. M. Shick, the Testator, have to this, my will, written on one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal, this tenth day of January, A. D. One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ten. J. M. Henderson, Register of Wills, Etc.., in and for the county aforesaid, came S. G. Mohney and D. M. Geist the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing purported to be the last will and testament of J. M. Shick deceased, and on their solemn oath, did depose and say that they were present, and did see and hear J. M. Shick, the testator therein named, sign, seal, publish and declare the same as and for his last will and Testament, and at the time of so doing he was of sound mind and memory, to the best of their knowledge and belief.
