Armstrong Co. Wills, 1882, Vol 3, Page 535, Estate # 4009 Catherine Silvis of Gilpin Twp. The Last Will and Testament of Catharine Silvis of the Township of Gilpin in the County of Armstrong and State of Pennsylvania. I Catharine Silvis considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows to wit. First of all I give my soul to God through Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour of the world and my body to the earth from whence it came. Next my will is that all my just debts as shall be by me owing at my decease together with my funeral expenses herein including tombstones and all reasonable charges touching the proving of this my last will and testament shall first be paid from the proceeds of my estate. Next I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Clara Klingensmith the sum of fifteen dollars to be paid unto her of the first moneys coming into the hands of my Executor after payment of all debtors regardless of age or guardian. Next I give and bequeath unto my son Levi Silvis, my son James M. Silvis, my daughter Elizabeth Mahaffy, my daughter Mary Gorman and my daughter Susannah Remaley the sum of one dollar each. Next I give and bequeath unto my daughter in law Catharine A Silvis Wife of James M. Silvis the balance of all moneys if there is such balance. Next my will is and I give and bequeath the Cemetery or grave yard unto my legal representatives to have and to hold forever and I hereby appoint Jonathan Myers Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of May in the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Eighty two. her Catharine X Silvis Mark Signed, sealed published and declared by the above named Catharine Silvis to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who at her request and in her presence have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto. Hays Register for the probate of Wills and granting letters of Administration and for the County aforesaid A. J. Allshouse and J. T. Klingensmith the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will who being duly sworn according to law do say that they were present and saw and heard Catharine Silvis the testatrix within named sign by Mark seal publish pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for her last will and testament and that at the time of so doing she was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief.
