"Today we were on the battlefield to bury our boys" says the letter, "and we found Vernon among the dead. Now, Dad, do not worry too much. He died game. He still held his rifle in his hands and there were seven dead Huns in front of him. Harry and Vernon were members of the same company in the 110th regiment.
