Died in Glasgow, Pa., October 21st, 1863, George Dawson, in the 76th year of his
age; he was chosen to the office of Ruling Elder, in which capacity he served for a
period of near fifty years… He has left a widow, who was for fifty-two years a
sharer of his joys and sorrows, and six sons, one of whom is a Ruling Elder in the
church of his father. His remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of
people who mourned his departure.
