All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jerry Thayer William Tindall died 14 Jan 1838 and was buried in the old Tindall Graveyard which was adjacent to his home on Sand Bank Rd. about a mile and a half south east of the village of West Pittsburgh. The cemetery is now abandoned and has been vandalized but because he was a Revolutionary soldier, one of the local Boy Scout troops recovered his stone in the mid 1970s and moved it to Savannah Cemetery in Shenango Twp., Lawrence Co. PA. William made his will 12 Sep 1836 and it was proven 31 Jan 1838. His will reads (Beaver County Will Book B, page 165): " IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN: I William Tindall of Shenango Township Beaver County and State of Pennsylvania being in good health of body and of sound and disposing memory and being now desirous to settle my worldly affairs whilst I have strength and capacity so to do, do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all wills by me at any time heretofore made- and first and principally I commit my soul into the hands of my creator who gave it and my body to the earth to be interred in the burying ground on my own farm. And as to such worldly estate as I am in possession of and own in anywise belonging to me, I dispose of the same in the manner following. I will that all my just debts as shall by me be owing at my death and together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the proving of or otherwise concerning this my last will, shall be paid by my executors out of moneys which I have laid up and intend to lay up and have reserved for that purpose. And if so that my wife Elizabeth shall outlive and survive after me, I will that all my personal property should be all left in the same condition that is when I leave it in her hands at her own disposal for her use during her natural life time. And to my children I will that they shall have of my estate to be paid to them by my executors in money in the manner following Viz: To Edy my eldest daughter (wife to Abraham Brown) one dollar. To William Tindall my eldest son one dollar. To Sarah one dollar. To Thomas Tindall my son one dollar and to Elizabeth one dollar. To Margaret one dollar and to my youngest son Zachariah, I will and bequeath all my farm and plantation of land of two hundred acres or thereabouts to hold the same in fee simple as I now hold and possess it, for him the said Zachariah Tindall to have and enjoy the same forever. And further my will and meaning is that if so be that there is not money sufficient which is laid up and reserved by me which may come into the hands of my executors after my decease to defray and pay the expenses and charges afore named and also to pay the sum allowed by me to my children as aforenamed. That Zachariah shall be bound to pay the same out of his own estate. And further I will and provide that if my wife Elizabeth shall survive me in this world that she shall have and enjoy as her residence during her natural life the mansion house in which I now with her do live. -under the care and protection of the said Zachariah Tindall (my son) he providing and taking the necessary care and provision of and for her in sickness and in health and I do hereby make ordain and constitute John T. Cunningham Esquire and Zachariah Tindall Executors of this my last will and testament and hereby empowering to do all things commanded, by me in this my last will and testament to be done as is enjoined on them by law as Executors of the same.
