Notice of Inquisition
Whereas Benjamin Ridgway, late of South Hampton Township, Bedford County, dec'd.,
died seized of the following real estate to wit:
One tract of land containing 258 acres and allowance, more or less, surveyed on a
warrant in his name, dated 27th February, 1797, adjoining the Maryland line, Andrew
Collins and others, and situate in said township of Southampton, leaving issue eight
children, to wit: Priscilla, intermarried with John K. Dye, residing in Monroe
County, O., whose interest is owned by Petitioner, Jacob Bernhard, Esq., Elizabeth,
intermarried with Peter Beaver, residing in the same County and State, Mary Ann,
intermarried with Enoch Dye, residing in same county and state, whose interest also
belong to Petitioner, James Ridgway, Nancy Dye, residing in same county and state,
Joseph Ridgway, residing in Monroe County, Missouri, Eliza Ridgway and Benjamin
Ridgway, residing in Monroe County, Ohio; also the issue of Amos Ridgway and Rachel
Edwards, to wit: Harriet, Nancy, Mary and Annie, children of Amos, residing in
Washington County, Ohio, and Benjamin residing in Monroe County, Missouri, Elsie,
Nathan, Edward, Mary, Rachel, Catharine, Elizabeth and Angelina, residing in
Washington County, Ohio, children of Rachel Edwards, dec’d.
Notice is therefore, hereby given that in pursuance of a writ of Partition, or
valuation, to me directed, I will proceed to hold an inquisition, or Valuation, on
the premises, on Wednesday, the 18th day of January, next, when and where all
interested may attend, if they see proper.
