We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTS OF DEEDS BETWEEN DAWSON & MARY BARNES and LEVIN SHIPLEY 15 August 1843: between Dawson Barnes and Mary Barnes of Allegany County, Maryland of the one part and Levin Shipley of Elijah of Bedford County, Pennsylvania of the other part. . .the said Dawson Barnes and Mary Barnes his wife for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars current money of the United States. . .have given, sold [etc.] to Levin Shipley, his heirs and assigns all that parcel of land lying and being in Allegany County in the state of Maryland called "Tambarine" [?] beginning for the outlines of the whole at a bounded pine standing on the West side of Town Hill and near the top and on the North Side of a Hill on the south side of a deep hollow . . . [mentions land both above and below the Pennsylvania border]. . .[mentions a stake near Barnes¹ Spring]. . .
