We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ----------------- Deed Book IJ Page 735, No. 04292: Bulger to Humberd (Air/Ayr Township) This Indenture made the eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen between Laurentz Bulger of Air Township Bedford County and State of Pennsylvania and Catharine his wife of the one part and Frederick Humbert of the Township County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that whereas in pursuance of a warrant dated the eighteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five (nine?) granted to the said Laurentz Bulger and Frederick Humberd a certain piece or tract of land containing three hundred and forty six acres and twelve perches with the usual allowance of six percent for ____s __, the same lying and being situated in the Township County and State aforesaid and adjoining lands of the said Frederick Humberd and Laurentz Bulger. And whereas in consequence of the before mentioned warrant being executed and returned into the Land Office they the aforesaid Laurentz Bulger and Frederick Humburd did on the thirteenth day of April(?) in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen obtain from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania a patent for the said above mentioned tract of land containing as aforesaid three hundred an forty six acres and twelve perches and the allowance ___. And whereas in consequence of an agreement between the said Laurentz Bulger and the said Frederick Humburd a line was made through said land and also a survey of the same on which survey the said Frederick Humberd claims and holds his share of said land held in partnership as aforesaid and is bounded and limited as follows; Beginning at a white oak thence north eighty one degrees east one hundred and forty six perches and one half to a post north forty one and three fourth degrees west seventy and a half perches to a white oak north twelve degrees west one hundred and twenty one perches to a post south seventy four degrees west twenty two perches to a locust south seventeen degrees west fifty two perches to a Spanish oak north seventy eight degrees west eighty seven perches to a post south forty and a half degrees west sixty three perches to a post south two and a half degrees east forty perches to a post south forty two degrees west eight two perches to a post south eighty one degrees west forty nine perches to a hickory south forty one degrees east sixteen perches to a stump south seventy five degrees east eight three and a half perches to a white oak south thirteen and three fourths degrees west twenty eight and one fourth perches to a hickory south seventy five degrees east thirty three perches to a hickory south three degrees east seventeen and three fourth perches to a white oak north seventy two degrees east ninety one perches to a red oak south sixty one and three fourth degrees east twenty and a fourth perches to a black oak north twenty three degrees west seventy four perches to the Beginning containing two hundred and forty three acres and one hundred and thirteen perches and the allowance of six percent for roads(?) so. Now know ye that the aforesaid Laurentz Bulger and Catharine his wife for themselves and for their heirs hath and doth by these presents release assign transfer quit claim and set over unto the aforesaid Frederick Humburd all and every part of the aforesaid described part of the tract of land patented as aforesaid to Laurentz Bulger and Frederick Humburd and particularly described and bounded as above and further the aforesaid Laurentz Bulger and Catharine his wife the aforesaid described tract or piece of ground as above described and bounded containing two hundred and forty three acres and one hundred and thirteen perches and the allow of six percent for roads(?) __and agreeable to the consentables line above mentioned from them the said Laurentz Bulger and Catharine his wife their heirs and assigns and from all and every person claiming by through or under them unto the aforesaid Frederick Humburd his heirs and assigns shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof, the said Laurentz Bulger and Catharine his wife have hereunto set their hand and seal the day and year first above written. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of us. Laurentz BULGER Test, Henry F.R.v MULVETZ Bedford County, __, Before me the subscriber one of the justices of the peace in and for said County came the within named Laurentz Bulger and Catharine his wife and acknowledged the within written instrument of writing to be their act and deed and desires the same may be recorded agreeably to law the said Catherine being of full age and separate and apart from her said husband by me examined and the contents therein being made known to her she voluntarily and without compulsion of her said husband consented thereunto given under my hand and seal this eight day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen.
