Page 468 Deed Indenture # 09415 April 14, 1827 Simon Kinton, wife Jane Simon Kinton son of: Thomas KINTON, Jr. & Rachel CARSON SIMON KINTON to SIMON STUCKEY This Indenture made and concluded this 14th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven Between SIMON KINTON and JANE his wife of NAPIER Township Bedford County and State of Pennsylvania of the first part. And SIMON STUKEY [STUCKEY ] of PROVIDENCE Township County and State aforesaid of the Second part. Witnessed that the said SIMON KINTON and JANE his wife for and in consideration of the sum of eleven hundred and twenty five dollars to them and in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, and sold under by these present do grant, bargain and sell unto SIMON STUKEY [STUCKEY ] his heirs and afsigns [assigns] the following described tract or parcel of Land Beginning at Stones on the Western Bank of the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, thence by and with lands of the aforesaid SIMON STUKEY [STUCKEY], North twenty and three quarter degrees, West two hundred and eighteen perches to Stones, thence by and with lands of JOHN NIXON, South ten degrees and one quarter, West one hundred and one perches to a post, thence South twenty four degrees and one quarter, West forty three and three tenths perches, thence by and with other lands of the aforesaid SIMON KINTON, South sixty degrees, East one hundred and thirty perches to the place of beginning. Containing fifty acres with the usual allowances at being part of a tract of Land containing two hundred and twenty nine acres and allowance and divides to the aforesaid SIMON KINTON by his father THOMAS KINTON, deceased and granted to the said SIMON KINTON by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by patent dated the first day of March Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and twenty seven and enrolled in Patent Book H. Volume 24 page 196. To have and to hold this above described tract of land of fifty acres to the said SIMON STUKEY [STUCKEY] for himself his heirs, executors and administrators doth hereby covenant and forever defend the Estate and title hereby conveyed and intended to be conveyed against all persons lawfully claiming or that may hereafter claim the same. In Testimony whereof the part of the first part have hereto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Signed and sealed and delivered SIMON KINTON [Seal] in the presence of JANE KINTON [Seal] J. BENNETT BEDFORD COUNTY, PA. Before me JACOB BENNETT one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County came SIMON KINTON and JANE his wife granted in the foregoing Indenture and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed the said JANE having been by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and having been made acquainted with the contents thereof did declare that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and record, seal and as her act and Deed deliver the said deed or conveyance without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband.
