A portion of this farm is still in the hands of Henry's decendants. It is along Pensyl Hollow Road near Cessna, Pennsylvania. THIS INDENTURE made the eleventh day of October in the year of OUR LORD one thousand seven hundred and ninety three Between Edmund Milne, of the city of Philadelphia, in the state of Pennsylvania, Gentleman, of the one part, and Henry Kuntz of Providence Township, Bedford County and the state of Pennsylvania farmer, of the second part. Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by their patent under the hand of The Honorable James Irvine, Esquire, the President of the Supreme Executive of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the seal of the Said Commonwealth, there under fixed bearing date of the twenty second day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five for the consideration therein mentioned did grant unto the aforesaid Edmund Milne, his heirs and assigns, A certain tract of land called ÒSPRINGFIELDÓ situated on Brushy Run about four miles from Bedford, formerly in Cumberland, now in Bedford County. Beginning at a corner with oak standing on the bank of Brushy Run, there by Edward Hurds land, north eighteen degrees, west thirty five perches to a white oak and north twenty degrees, west forty nine perches to a white oak, there by land of John Dunlap, north seventy-five degrees, west one hundred and ninety seven perched to a hickory, thence by land of Richard Hockley, south west two hundred and sixty six perches to an ash tree, thence by land of Edward Ward, south seventy six degrees East one hundred and forty eight perches to an ash tree standing on the bank of the above aid run, thence down the same by the land of Robert Irwin and Robert Dobson, three hundred and seven perches to the beginning of Brushy Run contains two hundred and seventy two (illeg.) and allowance of six (illeg.) for toads and as in and by the said cited patent Inrolled in the Rolls office for the State of Pennsylvania, in Patent Book N.3, page 367, will more fully and at large appear. NOW THIS INDENTURE witnesseth that the said Edmund Milne for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and sixty pounds, lawful money of Pennsylvania to the said Edmund Milne in hand and truly said by the said Henry Kuntz, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, Hath granted, bargained, sold absolute and confirmed and by these presents Doth grant bargain, sell, release and confirm unto the said Henry Kuntz, his heirs and assigns, all that the above describe Tract of Land containing two hundred and seventy two acres and allowance (illeg) as aforesaid Together with all and singular the buildings, improvements (poor copy - no print for about six or seven words) to the same (poor copy) or in any way ascertaining and the (poor copy) and remianders, rents, issues and profits thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described Trace of Land hereby granted as mentioned, to be granted with the appurtenances unto the said Henry Kuntz, his heirs and issues. To the only proper Use, benefit and behalf of him, the said Henry Kuntz, his heirs and assigns forever. Under and subject to the payment of all Taxes, Charges and assignments hereafter accrued on the said Tract of Land and the said Edmund Milne (bad copy - probably his heirs, etc.) Doth hereby covenent, promise (bad copy) to and with the said Henry Kuntz, his heirs and assigns, that the said Edmund Milne the hereby bargained and Sold premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Henry Kuntz, his heirs and assigns against all and every other person and persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same, shall and will warrant and forever by these present IN WITNESS whereof the said parties to these present have interchangeably set their names and seals this day and year first above mentioned. Sealed and Delivered in the presence of us JAMES ASHBROOK DAVID EPSY BEDFORD COUNTY Received on this day and the date of the above written Indenture of the above Henry Kuntz the sum of two hundred and sixty pound lawful money of Pennsylvania in full of the consideration money above mentioned.
