This Indenture made the twenty fifth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine Between Terence Campbell of the Borough of Bedford in the County of Bedford and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the one part and Robert Shannon of the same place of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Terence Campbell for and in consideration of the sum or thirteen hundred dollars lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said Robert Shannon at and before the execution hereof the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien release enfeoff and confirm unto the said Robert Shannon his heirs and assigns, a certain House and Lot of ground situated on the North side of Pitt Street in the Town of Bedford marked in the plan of said Town No 176, containing in front on said Pitt Street 60 feet and extending in the depth from said Street into the Raystown branch of the Juniata river, bounded Southward by Pitt Street aforesaid, Westward by Lot No 177, Northward by said branch of Juniata river, and Eastward by Lot No 175, [being the same Lot of ground which the Honorable John Penn the Younger by his attorney Anthony Butler, and John Penn the elder by his attorney John F Mifflin by their Indenture dated the tenth day of August one thousand seven hundred and ninety two conveyed to a certain Neal McMullen in fee, which the said Neal McMullen and Elizabeth his wife by their Indenture dated the seventh day of February one thousand seven hundred and ninety three conveyed to a certain James Heydon in fee, and which Lot of ground and premises with the appurtenances David Reiley Esquire Sheriff of the County of Bedford, in pursuance of a writ of Denditioni Exponas to him directed out of the Court of Common Pleas of Bedford County, at the suit of Meeker Cochran (Hc?) vs the said James Heydon, sold and by his Deed the first day of March one thousand eight hundred and three, conveyed to the aforesaid Terence Campbell] Together with all and singular the Buildings improvements rights privileges hereditaments and appurtenances (Page two begins on the reverse of page one): whatsoever thereunto belonging, or in otherwise appertaining. To have and to hold the before described house and Lot of ground with the appurtenances unto the said Robert Shannan his heirs and assigns, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Robert Shannon his heirs and assigns for ever. And the said Terence Campbell for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant promise and agree to and with the said Robert Shannon his heirs and assigns that he the said Terence Campbell and his heirs the hereby granted premises unto him the said Robert Shannon his heirs and assigns from him the said Terrence Campbell and his heirs and from and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any past there of shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents.
