Page 99 Esther McKee to Samuel Shannon This indenture made this seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred seventy two between Ester McKee of the town of Carlisle of the county of Cumberland and Province of Pennsylvania "of the one part" and Samuel Shannon of the County of Bedford and Province of aforesaid, of the other "to art" Witnesseth that the said Ester McKee for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings lawful money of Pennsylvania to her in hand, paid by other said Samuel Shannon at or before the execution and payment is hereby acknowledged and the said Samuel Shannon thereof forever acquitted and discharged by there presents the said Ester McKee hath granted bargained sold released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Samuel Shannon and to his heirs and assign a certain plantation and tract of land situate in Bedford County aforesaid described as follows "(Vig)" beginning at a White oak thence south seventy degrees east one hundred and twenty perches to arr Eld"er" thence north forty five degrees east thirty five perches to a White oak thence south seventy east seventy one perches to a White oak thence south two hundred and forty two perches to a dead black oak thence south forty five degrees west one hundred and "twenty" perches to a White oak thence north seventy degrees west one hundred and thirty five perches to a White oak thence adjoining the lands of Elizabeth Shannon and Samuel Shannon north three hundred and Eighteen perches to this place of beginning containing three and seventy acres and thirty six perches with the usual allowance of six acres "peent" for highways surveyed to the said Ester McKee by virtue of an order No. 3535 "bearing" date at Philadelphia June 23, 1769. Together also with all and singular the houses out houses barns stables buildings orchards gardens meadows fields waters water courses rights members privileges advantages hereditaments and premises with the appurtenances whatsoever there is belonging or in any ways appertaining and the reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever both at law and in equity of her the said Ester McKee of in and to this same and every part thereof to have and to hold the said plantation and tract of land hereby granted and released or meant mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Samuel Shannon or his heirs and assigns to this only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Samuel Shannon or his heirs and assigns forever subject to the purchase money interest and quit rents dues and to become due to the Honorable the Proprietors of this Province for the same And the said Ester McKee for herself and for her heirs doth hereby covenant promise grant & agree to and with the said Samuel Shannon and his heirs and assigns by these presents that she the said Ester McKee and her heirs thus above mentioned bounded and described plantation and tract of land with the appurtenances unto him the said Samuel Shannon his heirs and assigns against her the said Ester McKee and her heirs shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness Whereof the said parties "of" these presents have hereto set their hands and seals this day and year first above written signed sealed & delivered in the presents of John McKee and x..
