ARIAS - Pennsylvania Digital State Archives had: Emanuel Smith, Co. A, 184th Infantry. Bates, Vol 5, p. 154. (the handwritten index card is illegible; the other side is typewritten and says: "This man was mustered into service 3-3-64. He was taken sick almost immediately afterwards and sent to Hosp. at Camp Curtin. Name not carried on rolls. Transferred to Hospital in York General Hospital thence to Newton Hospital Baltimore where he was furloughed for 30 days 7-26-64 and went home and never returned. Sent medical certificate regularly every 20 days to Hospital at Baltimore. Unable to travel. Sick all the time. Mustered out by order of Lt. Col. Grier, USA Chief Mustering Officer in accordance with Cir. AGO [Attorney General's Office?] dated May 3, 1865."
