All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/bedford/ ________________________________________________ BOUNTY LAND CLAIM FORM OF DECLARATION To be made by the widow of a deceased person who has not had a land warrant. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- State of Pennsylvania County of Bedford On this 25th day of December A.D., one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid Ann Mariah Weisel aged seventy five years, a resident of Bedford County in the State of Pennsylvania, who being duly sworn according to law, declares, that she is the widow of Jacob Weisel, deceased, who was a soldier & officer in the company commanded by Captain xx----------------in the-- -------------Regiment of ----------------commanded by -------------------in the war of the Revolution.xx See her husband the said Jacob Weisel paper, Act of June 1832 on file in the Pension Office. That her said husband -------------at-- --------------on or about the ---------day of ----------A.D., ------for the term of-----------and continued in actual service in said war for the term of 18 months and was --------------at ---------------on the -------------day of ------ ------A.D. -------------as will appear by as above mentioned. She further states that she was married to the said Jacob Weisel in Bedford County, Pa. on the twentieth day of April______A.D., 1806 by one Christophor Riley a Justice of the Peace and that her name before her said marriage was Ann Mariah Kaufman that her said husband died at St. Clair TP Bedford Co. on the twelfth day of April _____A.D. 1839 and that she is now a widow at the date of executing this declaration. She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the Bounty Land to which she is entitled under the act approved March 3, 1855. Attest her F.D. Beagle Ann Mariah X Weisel Abrm H.
