Arnold, of Bedford, a private in the U.S. army in France, was listed in the casualty list of August 7 as having been seriously wounded in action in the fighting in the Chateau Theirry sector. Previous to his enlistment in the service he was a drug salesman and has many friends in the city. He frequently visited here and at the outbreak of war expressed his determination to enlist.
