Bedford, September 3. - Struck by an auto, Mrs. Albert Eshleman [sic], of Everett, was so badly injured last evening that she died a few minutes after being carried into a house near the scene of the accident. Mrs. Eshelman, who was 60 years of age, had been to a store to make some purchases and was returning to her home at Riverside when a car, driven by a young woman from New York who is visiting relatives in that section, suddenly rounded a curve and the sound of the horn confused the woman so that she stepped in front of the car. The injuries were chiefly to the head and upper part of the body. The driver was exonerated as witnesses testified the accident was unavoidable. The lady is survived by her husband and several children. Altoona Tribune, September 5, 1918, page 1 * Note: the 1910 Federal census shows Albert B. and Rebecca Eshelman living in Bedford.
