(Ebensburg, Pa.) December 1, 1870 A man named Michael Gondon and his wife, on the Bedford and Somerset turnpike, in Juniata township, Bedford county, had a quarrel on Sunday morning week, but the disturbance resulted, as many previous quarrels between them had resulted, in a mere war of words, and Gondon thereupon sat down to his breakfast, but had scarcely commenced when his wife approached him from behind and assaulted him with an axe, inflicting three terrible wounds on the head, from the effects of which he died on Tuesday following. The murderess had not been arrested at last accounts.
