Bedford, Sept. 2. - Bedford county mourns three sons killed and four wounded severely in France during August. Official messages were received this afternoon. Corporal Howard P. Dotty, aged 25, son of Joseph Dotty, of Bedford; Adolphus Andrews Hymes, son of J. W. Hymes, of Schellsburg; William S. P. Cathers, son of Benjamin Cathers, of Pavia, were killed in action. Those reported wounded were Corporals George Mowry, of Kegg, and Samuel H. Ickes, of Wolfsburg; Private George Washington Clark, of Everett and Reuben Henry Gardner, of Pavia. All were in Company L, 112th infantry, having served on the border with the Eighth National Guard. They were transferred to the 112th while at Camp Hancock, arriving over seas in May.
