All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/bedford/ _________________________________________ WILLIAM HENRY CORLE A native of Bedford county who for the past fifty-five years had been cashier of the Joseph Horne & Co. store in Pittsburgh and the oldest employe of the firm in point of service, died at the Fort Bedford inn yesterday morning after a short illness. He was born Sept. 25, 1856, at Charlesville, Bedford county, and went to Pittsburgh as a young man. He was employed by Joseph Horne, the founder of the firm, as cashier for the wholesale units of the company, and served in that capacity for a number of years, later becoming cashier in the Pittsburgh retail store. Surviving are one brother, John I. Corle, and one half-sister, Mrs. Ross Lysinger, both of Bedford. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the late home of a sister, Mrs. John O. Smith, who died short time ago, with whom he had spent his vacation each summer. Interment will be made at Bedford. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., July 24, 1929
