The people of our community were shocked on Friday evening by the sad news that Ralph Tobias, son of James and Jennie Curry, had answered the last summons and succumbed to that dread disease, acute pericardicitis [sic]. Ralph was a very healthy and lively child until about two months ago, when he contracted diphtheria, since which time he has been a very patient sufferer. His ringing laugh and musical voice will be missed from his home. We can but think as the Master has promised, that our loss will be his gain. Ralph is survived by his father, mother, two brothers and four sisters, all at home. Mr. Curry is a member of the firm of Woodcock & Curry. The sympathy of the entire community is with the bereaved family. Ralph was aged 4 years and 26 days. Funeral services were held in the Bethel church at this place by Rev. O. E. Houston, where Ralph was always seen in Sunday school. Interment was made in the Union cemetery at Loysburg. Funeral services at 2 o'clock p.m. Sunday. Morning Tribune, Wednesday, December 13, 1899
