Gephart died at his home near New Paris on the morning of March 3 [1915], at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 16 days. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gephart and was united in matrimony to Miss Annie Rose on Christmas of 1893 by Rev. W. H. Blackburn. To them was given one daughter, Miss Dena, at home. Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by a brother, Ambrose Gephart, of Canton, O., and three sisters, Mrs. George Berkebile, of Johnstown, Mrs. J. B. Stultz, of New Paris and Mrs. C. C. Cuppett, of Washington, D.C. The funeral service was conducted on the morning of the 5th by Rev. L. B. Rittenhouse, assisted by Rev. A. F. Richards, in the Evangelical Church at New Paris. Judging by the large concourse that attended the services, he had many friends. His body was laid to rest in the Evangelical Cemetery beside his parents by the following neighbors and friends: Peter Bisel, R. E. Dull, John Kerr, Fred Moore, S. H. Mickel and A. C. Richards. 1915 newspaper clipping
