Sr., 86, Elizabethtown, Pa., formerly of Johnstown, died at 3 a.m. May 3, 1963 at Masonic Home Hospital, Elizabethtown. Born March 10, 1877, in Fishertown, Pa., son of John and Sarah (Miller) Griffith. Preceded in death by parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Survived by widow, former Martha Jane Murdock, also at Masonic Home, and these children: Walter P., Riverside, Calif.; Scott M. Jr. and Mrs. Gertrude Steinbruegge, both of Denver, Colo., and Elizabeth Conrad, Phoenix, Ariz.; also sister, Miss Gertrude Griffith, 429 Ash Street, and brother Stattler J., Griffith, Oklahoma. Employed 44 years by Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Co.; was supervisor of axle and truck department of Franklin Car Shop. Member of Cambria Lodge 278, F. & A. M. Past master and past officer of York Rite; member of Oriental Commandry 61, Knights Templar, and a Shriner. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Picking Mortuary where service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Carl S. Fisher. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
