MRS. ELIZABETH (BLACKBURN) HAMMER

Widow of John H. Hammer, died at the home of her son, Sheppard Hammer, at New 
Paris, Bedford county, Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock, death following a stroke 
of apoplexy suffered three weeks ago.  She was the daughter of Joseph F. and 
Sarah Jane (Sheppard) Blackburn and was born in Bedford county on March --, 
1853.  She was united in marriage with Mr. Hammer on April 16, 1889, who died 
thirteen years ago.  Surviving are these children:  Sheppard Hammer of New 
Paris, where she had made her home for some years, Joseph of Alum Bank, Charles 
H. of New Paris and Ross Hammer of Pittsburgh.  Funeral services will be 
conducted at the home at New Paris Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment 
will be made in the Hull cemetery.
